Goal management
Each goal can have as many sub-goals as you want and there is no limit to how many levels you can register, but if you have more than 3 levels, it starts to get confusing. In the system goals are called objectives.
Create objectives and sub-goals in the system
To create a new objective, go to the Performance and then Objectives list in the left menu.
Press the +New button to open the form.
Fill in Title.
If this is a new overarching goal, you do not select an overarching goal in the form. If this is a sub-goal, choose which overarching goal it belongs to.
Different types of goals
How you register goals in the system depends on the type of goals you have set.
If you have a goal of creating a new department or developing a new product, you need different management information than if you have the goal of keeping the temperature in storage between two values.
The system allows you to record upper/lower limit, target value, Status and % Complete when creating a new target, but only use the fields that are relevant to the specific target. Remember a descriptive and concrete indicator. If the goal is not to end in the near future, because you want continuous measurements, set a deadline far in the future. Mainly, different goals can then be divided into these groups:
Development goals - achieve a certain level by a certain date. Time-limited and will be closed when they are reached. Often does not have a specific target number, and does not require measurements. Eg: Creating a new department or launching a new product.
Long-term goals - are not closed but adjusted over time as you improve. Want to see a positive development and keep statistics year after year. Eg: low sickness absence.
Monitoring target - stay above, below or between two values over time. Do not want change, but that something remains constant, measurements are important. Ex: temperature in storage must be between two values.
In our Guide, these different target concepts are explained in more detail.

Actions - How do we get there?
Actions describe specific measures that the organization takes to achieve a goal. If our goal is to increase the customer satisfaction score by 2 points over the course of a year, it would be natural to create one or more actions to make customers more satisfied. It could be to reduce the price of the product, improve product quality or offer better service. You create actions after you have created a goal. You must save and close a goal and reopen it in edit mode to create an action.
Indicators
When you create a new goal, you must describe an indicator. Choosing an indicator is important and it is often a bit of work to find an indicator that is measurable and gives you the information you need. An indicator must be unambigious.
Measurements
Register new measurements under the "Measurements” tab when in edit mode in an objective:
Click on "New measurement", choose whether you want to inherit Organization and/or Process from the target and click OK
Fill in the measurement and save.
