Encryption in Better

Better has standard functionality where sensitive data will be encrypted.

Cases

• When the case is new (status 1), the description field is encrypted.

• During the rest of the proceedings, the "Sensitive information" field is encrypted and all sensitive data must be moved to this field.

Only the Case Manager and Deputy can decrypt data that has been encrypted.

This functionality requires case managers to move sensitive data to the Sensitive information field manually and is standard in Better.

Actions

• The description field is activated with encryption for most customer setups.

Encryption settings

• It is possible to turn off/on encryption of only multi-line text fields.

  • Contact support if you want a different setup than what you have.

  • If you want to turn "off" encryption, we must run a script when we turn it off so that this content will be visible afterwards.

• Encryption can behave differently

  • Automatic decryption when displaying content (in read only display) (off or on)

  • Automatic decryption when viewing and editing mode (off or on)

  • Encryption when the field is saved (off/on)

• If Automatic decryption is "off", you have to press a button to see the content. This is to ensure that you deliberately want to see the content - that it does not appear on the screen by accident - for example when sharing the screen in a meeting.
