Permanent links

Once you have published a document, you may want to create a permanent link to the document that does not change, even if you publish new versions of the document. Some people want this to be able to create a link to a document in the link library, or as a box in a process map.

Follow this recipe to learn how. This works for all document libraries in SharePoint and in QM365 for Governing documents and Other documents. BUT it is very important that you do not change the name or title of the document - then the link will no longer work.

  1. Go to the library

  2. Locate the document

  3. Click on the 3 dots after the document Title and then on "Copy link"

  4. Decide who should have access to the document via the link - click the button - (if it is ok, then skip this point)

Here you may choose different groups of users

5. Click “Copy” to use this link
